One application or an approved set
A dedicated device may need one application for a single task or several applications for a complete workflow. Identify the actual user journey before restricting access. Include sign-in, scanning, printing or other peripherals only where the task requires them.
Check the exact platform
Kiosk behavior and available restrictions depend on OS, device and enrollment mode. Test the selected hardware and the intended application. A feature available on one platform should not be assumed to work identically across every device in the fleet.
Design for interruptions
Evaluate network loss, application restart, software updates and shift changes. Define what users should see and how authorized staff regain maintenance access. Restriction is only useful when the device can still complete its job and recover from foreseeable operational problems.
Scope a deployment request
Send device models, OS versions, locations, counts, approved apps and maintenance ownership. Describe the rollout period and any existing management setup. Request confirmation of the necessary plan and any additional work; this guide does not promise universal peripheral compatibility or a completed installation.
