Inventory before policy
Group endpoints by OS version, ownership and role. A shared tablet, corporate laptop and personal phone should not inherit identical assumptions. Record the exact controls required for each group and verify support in the relevant Scalefusion configuration.
Enrollment is part of the operating model
Identify who prepares a device, how it joins management and who owns recovery if enrollment fails. Existing device state and platform requirements can affect the route. Evaluate representative hardware before committing to a rollout schedule.
Applications and restrictions need testing
List applications, distribution needs and policy changes. Validate a normal work task after applying a test policy, including connectivity and authentication. Check permissions for administrators and document recovery from a policy that interrupts work.
Select the plan against required controls
Compare the requested controls by platform with the proposed subscription. Identify optional capabilities and migration or implementation services separately. The final quantity should follow the agreed device scope and purchasing terms, not a speculative count of everyone employed by the organization.
UEM, identity and security are separate decisions
Scalefusion UEM addresses device management. OneIdP and Veltar have distinct identity and security scopes; do not assume their full capabilities are included in every UEM subscription. Map required controls to the actual product, edition and enrollment mode in the offer.
